The Challenge
It was necessary to enable AD integration with Oracle EBS, which is currently used within AvivaSA. Afterwards, what is required by AvivaSA is to ensure that the authentication processes of EBS users are managed from the Active Directory environment. Users who left their jobs or changed departments were still able to access EBS with the same privileges.
What did
Deka Technology do
After a detailed analysis and design phase, delivery of the following high-level scope was raised:
- Since the EBS version is outdated, it cannot query directly from AD. Therefore, OID was installed and continuous replication was performed from AD.
- Oracle access manager was installed and configured to query credentials.
- Weblogic installations were made for OID and OAM
- Webgate and accessgate configurations for reverse proxy purposes are defined on WebLogic.
- All components have been tested to work properly. Incoming and outgoing requests and responses over HTTP were tested.
- According to the above requirements, the following architecture was implemented.
The Results
- Oracle EBS system was integrated with AD and users were able to log in with their AD username and password. There is no longer a need for a second password for EBS
- Users were automatically created with E-Expense authority on the Oracle EBS system
- Speed and profit were achieved in operational transactions.
- The findings of the internal audit were closed and compliance rules were fulfilled.
- Users added, deleted and updated in AD are automatically synchronized with the Oracle-EBS system
