- Focus
- Identity integration for Oracle E-Business Suite
- Deka Technology scope
- Active Directory authentication, directory replication, Oracle Access Manager configuration, WebLogic setup, reverse-proxy integration and request-flow testing
- Delivered capabilities
- AD-based Oracle EBS login, removal of a second EBS password, E-Expense user creation and automated synchronisation of added, deleted and updated users
Challenge
AgeSA's legacy Oracle E-Business Suite environment required users to manage a separate application password in addition to their Active Directory credentials. User lifecycle changes also had to be reflected reliably between the corporate directory and Oracle EBS.
The project needed to connect identity, directory and access-management components without replacing the underlying enterprise application.
Deka Technology role
Deka Technology designed and implemented the integration path between Active Directory and Oracle EBS. The work included continuous replication from Active Directory to Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Access Manager credential-query configuration and the supporting WebLogic environment.
The team also configured the reverse-proxy layer using Oracle WebGate and AccessGate and tested the HTTP request and response flow across the integrated components.
Approach
-
Directory replication
Connect Active Directory with Oracle Internet Directory through continuous replication.
-
Authentication flow
Configure Oracle Access Manager to support the required credential flow.
-
WebLogic environment
Establish the WebLogic environment for Oracle Internet Directory and Oracle Access Manager.
-
Access path
Configure WebGate and AccessGate for the reverse-proxy and access path.
-
Request-flow testing
Test HTTP requests and responses across the integrated environment.
-
User lifecycle validation
Validate login, user creation and user-change scenarios in Oracle EBS.
Outcomes
The completed integration enabled login to Oracle EBS with Active Directory credentials.
Users could access Oracle EBS without a second application password.
The integration enabled automatic user creation based on E-Expense authority.
Users added, deleted or updated in Active Directory could be synchronised with Oracle EBS.
