Challenge

The infrastructure landscape spanned multiple group companies, operating systems, databases, middleware applications, container environments and deployment models. This breadth made complete inventory visibility, consistent monitoring definitions and coordinated maintenance more difficult.

The operating model also required critical and warning alarms to be visible centrally, including outside standard working hours.

Deka Technology role

Deka Technology carried out infrastructure discovery and reconciled its inventory with customer and previous-vendor records. The work included checking unreachable servers, creating required administrative users outside the domain, defining database maintenance users and tasks, and establishing monitoring definitions for the full server estate.

ManageEngine probe servers and a central management server were established for the covered companies, with critical and warning thresholds configured. Endpoint Central, AssetExplorer and server agents supported monitoring and inventory management.

The 24/7 scope covered intervention for alarms outside working hours and the issuing of necessary warnings.

Approach

  1. Discover and reconcile the estate

    Infrastructure assets were identified and inventory records aligned across the covered environments.

  2. Standardise server monitoring

    Monitoring definitions were established for the server estate, supported by company-level probes and central management.

  3. Configure operational alarms

    Critical and warning conditions and their thresholds were defined across the monitoring environment.

  4. Establish reporting

    Availability and capacity reports covered servers, applications and databases.

  5. Support out-of-hours alarm response

    The monitoring model enabled intervention when alarms occurred outside normal working hours and supported the required warnings.

Outcomes

The engagement created central visibility for critical and warning alarms and provided availability and capacity reporting across the monitored environment.
